Cancellation of Licenses of 14 Private Housing Societies

Apex News

A few days back, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) canceled the licenses of fourteen housing societies for not making registerations with the district administration. The societies were asked to ensure their registrations in the respective district administrations. The licenses of housing schemes were canceled because they failed to fulfill the conditions set by CDA.

The non-complying housing societies include WAPDA Employees Cooperative Housing Society, Pakistan Employees Cooperative Housing Society, Ministry of Commerce Employees Cooperative Housing Society, Veterans Cooperative Housing Society, OGDC Officers Cooperative Housing Society, National Police Foundation, Foreign Office Employees Cooperative Housing Society, Work No Word Cooperative Housing Society, Pakistan Public Works Department (PWD) Society, Federal Shariat Court Employees Housing Society, etc.

According to the directions of CDA, a notification for cancellation will be sent out. Moreover, CDA has also shut down two unlicensed and unauthorized housing schemes. This move results from CDA’s efforts to crack down on illegal and non-submissive housing projects.
