The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has agreed to start constructing a five-kilometre long signal-free road from Gulberg to DHA next month. The Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar had directed, last month, his provincial cabinet to put the project in the Annual Development Program (ADP). Referring to it, 3.60 bn PKR has been alloted for this state-of-the-art project.
The one of the prime objectives of this corridor is to chop up the traffic bottlenecks in the area and provide people ease to commute from one place to another.
As per the approved design, LDA will construct a flyover at Ghoda Chowk and an underpass at Khalid Butt Chowk. Chief Engineer of LDA, Mehar Mazhar, informed the media that “The construction of the project will be started immediately after its inauguration in the next month.”
