Addressing a ceremony held to honor International Anti-Corruption Day, DG Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) expressed that his department had been crafting recommendations on how to deal with such a considerable magnitude of "illegality" in administrative and legal ways. DG ACE added that 70% of Lahore is illegally built.
"The governance of land rules and keeping records up to date is primarily a fundamental function of the Punjab Board of Revenue (BoR). The problem lies in fact: every 4th application filed before the ACE had a connection to the BoR during the ongoing year," he shared. Nafees told that among the total filed files of 28,756 across the province, the ACE had received over 7,000 complaints linked with the revenue board.
Against all the filed complaints, his department succeeded in resolving the 28,352 complaints in the passing year, recovering PKR 28.77 billion since last December, including state-possessioned land worth PKR 21.56 billion.
