Sindh Government is aiming to launch a free housing scheme called Sindh Apna Ghar Scheme in the province to support low-income groups. Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh, Nawab Wasan has briefed the Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari about the free housing scheme and has invited him to inaugurate the project. According to the devised plan by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Housing Cell, 10,000 houses free of cost will be provided to low-income people in the first phase and will be allotted to them via a lucky draw.
The second phase of the scheme will provide 10,000 more houses across the province. The free housing scheme will be started from Hyderabad and Nawabshah as per the sources. Furthermore, 2,000 plots will be provided to low-income people in Khairpur, meanwhile. Sindh government is also planning to initiate Benazir Flats and Free Plot Schemes for low-income people in Karachi.
Chairman PPP, Mr. Bhutto-Zardari has appreciated this initiative and has directed Mr. Nawab Wasan accelerate the work on the free housing scheme in Sindh.
