On Monday, the honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered authorities to take strict action against the government officials responsible for ratifying the construction permit for Karachi's illegal 15-storey Nasla Tower. While hearing the case of Nasla Tower Demolition, a two-member SC bench, including Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Qazi Mohammad Amin, instructed the anti-corruption department to file a lawsuit against the culprits ratifying the building plan. The court decreed police write down a separate case against the involved officials.
The DIG West has been directed by the apex court to take strict action against the responsible officials who had approved the building plan of Nasla Tower and present an all-inclusive report as soon as possible.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan has also directed the Sindh High Court's (SHC) official authorities to confiscate the land of Nasla Tower spreading over the 780 sq. yards and put a stop to its sale.
A two-member SC bench expressed its displeasure over the slow speed of the demolition operation. "Such a building is torn down within one hour in the world. What are you people doing? " Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmad remarked.
Karachi Commissioner Iqbal Memon told the noble court that 400 mazdoors were working on this task. He added that 5-floors of the Nasla Tower had been crushed so far.
