Creative ways to convert a Spare Room in Your Home into something Useful

Home Decoration

When you have a spare room in your room and you want to fill it up for good, then a thousand possibilities chase through your mind and believe it or not, you can do plenty with extra space or room at your home. Today we will discuss some creative solutions and ideas as to what can be done to the extra room that sits vacant in a home.

Playroom

If you are tired of letting your children play around in the living room and bedroom, scribbling over the walls and messing up the tidy environment, then how about some nursery? Playroom? Or how kids call it “magic room” where you could make their storybook fantasies unleash by whipping color splash paints on the walls, creating a fairy sleeping tent and installing cartoon wallpapers on walls with lots of washable walls so they can doodle without causing anxiety to mothers. Making a spare toy room for children is actually quite imaginative and peaceful for worrisome parents who don’t like squeaky noises and dirty mess all over the household.

Gym

Well! Now that what we call a real idea, what do you think? Convert your spare room into an indoor gym for the work-out freak men and even the ladies who like to run on the treadmill and stay fit. Instead of going to the wellness clubs and throwing away your money how about some affordable ways to lose weight and stay fit by organizing some gym machines and cardio appliances at home. Even if you just buy some weights, a yoga mat, and other inexpensive equipment, you can turn your unused room into something useful.

Library

If you love books and reading the material and aspire to have your own book land with your personal favorite collection of books and magazines where you curl up on a fluffy sofa and read away, then this is definitely your goal. Make the extra room into a reading arena where you and only whom you love can have access to your fantasy books.

Also, parents can transform a room into study room where you create a studious environment that motivates children to study by putting up a sleek table and comfortable two-way folding chair or bean bag cushions and fancy lamp. Making sure there is no noise or footsteps thumping in the area to cause a disturbance. This is an excellent way to compel your children to study or concentrate during exams.

Entertainment Center/Fun Room

This is an awesome idea where you can change your extra space into something groovy and vibrant by installing some HD Music appliances/Movies CDs/DSLR Camera, Painting studio, Piano or Guitar, etc. This is a very personal room to you where you can exercise your hobbies and creativity, for example, if you are into playing some instrument you can set up a music room and play whenever you like or if you love to sketch or paint. Create that into a studio or makeup room or even a closet. Use dark woods and deep colors, reclining chairs and a sectional couch, and top it off with a flat screen television for the perfect movie theater feel. It can be a great place to have a movie marathon on a rainy day!

Prayer Room/Meditation Room

If you require a separate room for meditation/yoga or prayers then you can convert your spare room into a prayer area strictly for spiritual activities. This creates harmony in a house when you have defined space for praying or meditating purposes. Decorate it in all white with comfortable furniture, throw pillows, and blankets. This creates a serene space where you can go to clear your head, meditate, and relax.

Attic/Store Room

That’s where all the clutter/extra stuff goes into in order to clean up your home. Normally that’s how free space is utilized at home by homeowners they make it into a storeroom or attic where seasonal clothes/materials are kept and this keeps overflowing by the end of the year. It’s a typical yet wise move.
