According to a news source, the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) approved the revised plan for the Akbar Chowk Flyover during a meeting led by Mohsin Naqvi, who is the Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab.
The Chief Secretary, the Chairman of Planning and Development, the LDA Director General, the Additional Secretaries of Housing, Finance, and Local Government, as well as officials from NESPAK, Line Departments, and other governing body members, all attended the meeting.
In addition to the plan for the Akbar Chowk Flyover, the LDA made a number of other decisions at the meeting. This included a review of proposed amendments to the rules for building and zoning. The minister also stressed how important it was to pay homeowners market prices for land that was taken from them.
The meeting also gave the LDA's auction committee permission to sell shops at the Park and Ride Plaza in Liberty Market at an auction. A full review of the four-lane Ravi Bridge project was also given the green light. At the meeting, they also talked about where to establish petrol pumps near transportation terminal sites and how to assess the land for that.
The fact that the revised Akbar Chowk Flyover plan was approved shows that the LDA is committed to improving Lahore's infrastructure and addressing transportation needs in the city. The decisions made at the meeting show that people are taking an active role in urban development and making good use of the available resources.
