Gwadar International Airport to hold Groundbreaking ceremony on 28th March 2019

The groundbreaking of Gwadar International Airport will officially incur on 28th March and Prime Minister of Pakistan Mr. Imran Khan will lay down the foundation stone of this mega-project. Gwadar International Airport worth $246m is located in the volatile Baluchistan region and is said to be the largest in Pakistan. The proposed airport will span over an area of 4,300 acres and will be able to accommodate narrow-body aircraft, including ATR 72 and Boeing B-737, as well as wide-body aircraft such as Boeing B-747. During the groundbreaking ceremony, significant personalities and Government officials will be present to mark this momentous occasion.

Groundbreaking of a number of projects including Gwadar power plant, New International Airport, vocational institute, and hospital would be done in the coming few weeks. Rashakai is one of the nine special economic zones prioritized under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) framework whose groundbreaking will also take place in March 2019.

Pakistan is fully committed to taking CPEC to new heights. Pak-China will participate with full preparation in the Belt and Road Forum, planned in the month of April.
