China’s Vice-President Wang Qishan on Tuesday concluded his three-day “highly successful” visit to Pakistan, deepening the bilateral partnership and mutual engagement between the two countries. The visit was in every sense a triumphant event as it marked impressionable meetings, the launching of four mega projects, inking of five accords and monitoring the progress on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
The vice-president’s highly successful visit has imparted a strong impetus to further deepening of the time-tested friendship between Pakistan and China,” the foreign office said in a statement as the visiting dignitary wrapped-up his visit to Islamabad and Lahore from May 26-28.
The two sides held analytical discussions on Phase-II of CPEC including industrial and agricultural cooperation and socio-economic development, and on deepening practical cooperation in tourism and people-to-people exchanges. The visit was particularly significant in forging Pak-China friendship and international development/relations following the stigma that threatened to rise regarding Chinese people forcing Pakistani girl’s marriages and the ugly prostitution ring. This bilateral talks between both the country heads underscored their firm commitment for early completion of ongoing CPEC projects and to further expanding CPEC.
CPEC Developments during Chinese VP Visit to Pakistan
Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan Sunday launched four mega development projects in the fields of energy, technology, and education under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The RSEZ has arranged midway in the CPEC at the intersection of Karakoram Corridor and ML-1 advancement hallway. It is set to progress toward becoming — and will be structured — to be the key trade and logistics hub associating Kashgar, Kabul, and Gwadar on the Belt and Road and a top of the line host of global business, technology, and manufacturing hub.
The two leaders inaugurated the Confucious Institute at the University of Punjab. The establishment mostly provides Chinese education, cultural promotion and trades, and different projects and exercises. They also reached a consensus to implement the recently concluded 2nd Phase of China Pakistan Free Trade Agreement (CPFTA) at the earliest.
